Del Sol Brake problem
My 93 Si has been sitting over a year, on a slight incline, and hasn't been moved. Yesterday, I let the e-brake off, put it in reverse to back it up, and it wouldn't move. What could be the problem, and what would be the easiest way to fix it and get it going again ?? I'm kinda noobish when it comes to things like this, and would appreciate any help possible . . .

I really don't, but when I put it in reverse, it feels as if the rear won't let go, or it's stuck. It kinda feels like the e-brake is on still, don't know any other way to describe it . . .

Nope, like I said, I'm kinda of a noob when it comes to this stuff. Is there a "checklist", book or something I can look at to get me through the procedure? I want to learn as much as I can about my car as I can, but don't want to screw anything up in the process . . .

Re: Del Sol Brake problem
Get under the car and spray the e-brake link with dw40 or something similar. Then back it out and drive it around. A little force will free the pads and knock the rust off the rotors. Then check and possibly rebuild the brakes.

Re: Del Sol Brake problem
The car bogs down when I give it some gas either in 1st or reverse, to the point of cutting out. I got out and checked the drums, and both rear drums have like a skid mark on them, the pass. rear more than the driver's rear. I can hear something rubbing when I try to go forward, but when I put the brakes on, it stops . . .

Re: Del Sol Brake problem
Jack the front end up and put it on jack stands. Then turn the engine on and see if the front wheels move when you give it gas. If they move fine, then your rear brakes might have seized or the parking brake cable is hung up somewhere.
