Where did you tap the power wire?

Under? You mean you feed the wire in with the fuse? Or are you actually cutting wires and soldering them back together?

no, not feeding the wire with the fuses..
there are certain slots above the fuses that you can stick wires in there by clamping the wire with those metel things and sticking it in the slot...there are 5 slots .slot 3 is the one i checked that has power.

it might be some other wires instead of the power wire ..mines in C917

here's a diagram.. what other wire could it be.

maybe it's because i tappped the ignition(orange) wire in with the foglight wires together?

LOL funny how I was just helping out a fellow H-T member (ISeeJDMYo) with the exact same tachometer since I have a similar one in my car.

There's a lot more terminals in the under dash fuse box which you can use for your power and ignition wires (Test light helps!) Anyways you might want to move your ILLUMINATION wire (white one) to some other wire rather than connecting it to the fog light. I e-mailed Defi and asked them if it's ok for me to wire the illumination to the headlights/fog lights/parking light/back-up light and the guy replied that we should use a "SMALL LAMP" (as said in your diagram) such as the instrument cluster light.
Defi Step Tachometer is dope man I love it except I have to get a shift light since the small warning light isn't that bright during the day.
