D16z6 into a 97 ek hatch
Im currently doing a swap on my boys ekhatch. i took out the original y7, and now installing a z6 swap, my question is how do i swap the motor and plug it up while using the same y7 harness.
im thinking of putting a y8 manifold and hopes it plugs up (im goin to change the iacs from the y7 to the y8 manifold.) anything else i should know? or am i going about this all wrong? please help HT! thanx lots

What ECU are you going to use? Converting to OBD1? Hooking up VTEC? The Y7 distributor won't bolt up right to the Z6 head. The Z6 distributor won't plug in. Reuse the Y7 alternator. If u use the y7 ecu you'll have to reuse the y7 intake and exhaust manifolds and injectors.

im using the harness from the y7 and a y8 manifold, and the hatch is staying obd2.
i want to know how can i majke the z6 run right while leaving the stock harness and using the y8 manifold. i still have te y 7 manifold though. also have the z6 manifold .

You could prolly gut the z6 dizz and install the guts from and obd-2 dizz but you also have the crankposition sensor you have to "fix" since the z6 has it in the dizz and the y7 has it on the block.
Even then I have heard that it will not run right. If it was me I'd get a y8 and put it in there.
The y8 mani is the easy part the rest not so much imo
