z6 in ek ?'s help!!
First. Yes I posted this somewhere else but no one could or was willing to help
Ok I just purchased a complete z6 swap thats extremely complete including the wiring harness thats going to replace my y7 engine in my 97' hatch for a while and I have a couple questions.
- I'm looking to use the CX obd 2 harness with an obd2-obd1 jumper harness and the p28 on the z6 engine.
-What I know so far:
the eacv needs to be converted to a 2 wire setup and I have the connector off the obd 1 harness to use so thats cool
-The y7 distributor won't bolt up to the z6 head but if i'm not mistaken the z6 can be repinned using the single 9 pin y7 distributor plug.
-I'm going to use the y7 injectors on the z6 head because they don't require the resistor box and because of the obd 2 plugs.
-Of course the vtec solenoid needs to be wired up too
What i'm not sure on:
1) What obd1 and obd2 sensors are not interchangable? What isn't going to plug up? ex. TPS, CTS, map, etc.
2) What have I missed?
Thanks in advance
0h just in case yes I searched, and I know it's illegal to use an older engine in a newer car. When I finish building the y7 bottom end it's going back in and the z6 bottom end will become the back up.

Re: z6 in ek ?'s help!! (95 LS)
Actually it looks like you have a grasp on pretty much all of the problem areas, doing your homework pays off... The only other sensor that will be an issue is the IAT. Its a normal round 2 prong plug located on the Z6 manifold instead of in the intake pipe as your stock IAT is.

Re: z6 in ek ?'s help!! (VTECVillain)
Thanks man I appreciate you helping me out. Yeah i noticed the IAT is that 2 pin white connector on the back of the manifold on the z6 but it got smashed in transportation to my house. I was just thinking of leaving it in the manifold as a dead sensor and just using the y7 IAT in the intake instead. That should work shouldn't it? I hope so.
