Default D16Y8 Comp Cams 105300 - Rough Idle

Hey Guys,

I am running with this cam for my newly build D16Y8 w/Z6 block, the motor and setup in in my '90 CRX but the motor is from a 2000 Civic Si so I figured I would post here:

105300 - QUIKTYME?

I have noticed my car needed a bit higher RPM to run smooth. The car kept stalling out when warmed up and when I gave it gas would hesitate; I advanced the timing about 5 degree using my adjustable cam gear (Y8 gear) and it runs better. But starting is a bit harder, I am not sure if this is related to my larger injectors (480CC) for my Turbo setup or whatever.

Some background:

1)D16Y8 head rebuilt, new valves, springs, retainers. D16Z6 block, running 75mm vitaras, eagle rods, new rings, ACL bearings, new oil pump. Clearances were checked within .0025 of spec.
2)Compcams 105300 Cam
3)Wahlbro fuel pump,. upgraded rail and 480CC injectors.
4)Running a P28 on Neptune with a wideband and 4 bar map sensor.
5)Running a Y8 OBD2 dizzy, with a conversion harness. New spark plugs, new wires, running on an MSD Blaster coil.

What have I done?

1) Cleaned and checked IACV, it works.
2) Bled the coolant system as all the cooling system components are also new (thermostat, hoses, water pump, radiator, fan)
3) Played around with the idle screw. If its too tight the engine chokes and bogs below 500rpm and stalls.
4) Advanced timing at cam gear 5 degree, this seems to have helped. But it leaned the mixture understandably, but helped the responsiveness of the pedal (doesnt bog before revving) and seems to have helped the stallking. Why the heck doesnt 0 degree mechanical timing at the shaft work fine? My base timing in the tune is 16.5 base timing.

Currently tuning and trying to get it to run smooth by making mechanical adjustments and working with my basemap tune I've setup in Neptune.

I am not sure if others who have a similar setup have difficulty starting, or have had to advance timing to keep this setup running properly? Do bigger cams normally require more advance? I've had to richen the mixture more after advancing it to get back to normal fuel ratios. Are bigger cams usually harder to start up, requiring more RPMs to idle at?

Thanks Sorry for all the questions, hope some experts can chyme in.
