So, this was the most recent, and even though it doesn't have the information you wanted, you decided to post here anyway without looking at ANY of the other threads, or the FAQ's sticky? That's not how it works. Try again.

It's not a "ridiculous restriction", it's to encourage people to search, read, and educate themselves before shitting up the forums with a hundred posts a day asking the same damn question.

Okay, still doesn't change the fact that i think it's ridiculous, if you wanna help then help, if not then why be rude? I was only asking because my assumption was that people on these forums would be educated enough to not be like the dealerships who act like they know it all. It was my fault for using this website as people here are not as helpful as other forums, and have Hitler like rules. your life must be real sad when you need other people to suck up to you and follow "Your" rules, better to be content with life then not.
If you don't like the rules then why did you bother signing up?

Considering you're in the busiest subforum, of one of the top 5 car forums in the world, with some of the most knowledgeable Honda minds in the world, you need to hop down off your high horse, follow the rules, search, educate yourself, and start hoping that your attitude hasn't made everyone here not want to help you.
Rebuilding an engine is rebuilding an engine. It's the same process for them all. Hone, clean, replace all seals and gaskets, replacing timing components, mic and replace bearings, replace head studs if they're out of spec. Every motor I've rebuilt, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, it's the exact same process.
You're welcome.

Re: D16y7 engine worth doing anything to?
Posting a question here due to new member and can't start a new thread yet.
Question: What would cause a cam to break on a 98' Civic D16Y7 engine?
I recently had the head replaced with a new one that was checked out with a good machine shop. I have replaced timing belt & tensioner, water pump, and oil seal with the head change. I have been driving the car for about a month with this new head and one day out of the blue the car dies on the highway and towed it back to shop to find out the cam broke in the middle. Mechanic says he has seen this before but rare.
What causes this???
Thanks all.
