Okay guys, i have a 98 civic dx d16y7, im have a greddy sohc turbo kit im putting on next month, and im doing a d16y8 intake manifold swap.Im waiting on my d16y8 intake manifold.Its a bare manifold, im using all the dx parts throttle body, fuel rail, fuel regulator, etc.....I know that i cannot use the d16y7 throttle cable plate, (the gold piece on the throttle body with the spring on it), so i got a throttle cable plate off a 93-95 del sol type s non vtec z6, i took it off the del sol throttle body.My question is will i be able to use the del sol throttle cable plate on the d16y7 throttle body?Im assuming i can they look the same as the d16y8 throttle cable plate. Just need some clarification, thanks in advance.

Don't know for sure. I used the y8 tb cable bracket (the gold peice with the spring on it) and it works fine for me. What tb bracket are you planning to use?? I had to make a special holder for mine (did'nt realize the y7 would'nt work until almost done with the swap. If you have any other ?s, feel free to PM me. I've done this a couple times.

The thing is though i dont have a d16y8 throttle cable plate or throttle body , you cannot use the dx D16Y7 throttle cable plate, its different, so im using a 93-95 del sol type s throttle cable plate, so it points in the right direction.

i read the DIY guide (http://www.makuragi.s5.com/civic_99/Y8maniswap) and it sez to swap out the plate, like you are saying, but i got mine to work with the y7 TB/Plate/Everything.. I had to bend the throttle cable bracket/holder (where the Nuts are) then adjust the throttle cable NUTs and it werks excellente`

just bend the f*cker and bolt it in different ways to make it work,..

edit: ok, i think the bracket im talking about only comes with the y8

I would rather just swap out the plate.

yes u can use any d series throttle rotor from any side mounted throttlebody for a d series or a b series except the gsr throttle rotor.
