Just make sure its runs good and when u look at the motor make sure no cables were cut and spliced. and also that it has a good body cuz DEL SOL body parts are pretty expensive compared to other hondas. If u had pics you could ask if its worth it theirs alot of Delsolers around here.

For starters, rear quarter panel rust and roof seals for leaks. One of the first questions I ask is always about the last time the timing belt and water pump were changed. If the swap was done backyard vs. professional, they might have just used the old timing belt.
Of course, there are other things to look for in buying a used car, so the best advice would be to take a checklist. The above are del sol-specific things.

im gonna have to argee with the guy who posted above me, DEFINITELY make sure the roof seals, and check for rust and rot on the car, considering you live in an area where it snows cars there are more prone to getting those problems. also make sure the rear window works

if its a private party your best bet is to take it to a mechanic that -you- know (before you buy it!) and have them check it out. Im not sure how your state works, but around here its an "as is" sale from a private party, so if they are trying to hide something your screwed with it no matter what you do.
check for oil leaks or presence of them.. get your head under the thing (somehow) they might have temp stopped a leak, but you will see all the oil all over the place under the car if its leaking. definetly want to know about the timing belt, it would best if you could see it cuz thats the last thing you want snapping on you, and if the covers on they can say whatever they want..

ok I will. I am supposed to look at it today. We will see how it goes. A friend of mine has seen the car and said it runs great, but the paint is peeling pretty bad.
