cold weather noise..
I dunno if this is weather related, but i've noticed in the winter my car 'groans' more if you know what i mean. But lately... when it's really cold there's a small click noise coming from my steering wheel. It's not an axle issue, the noise is directly beneath the steering wheel itself. It usually only happens for a while after start up. I searched but I haven't found much?

is it a click- or a dull screaching- ? sometimes when its real cold out (like air temp below 0) my civic makes a shreiking/screaching noise from under the steering wheel, like kinda by my left knee

my car makes all kinds of squeaking noises when its really cold outside, they are annoying at times but i doubt that anything serious is wrong

Same thing happens in my 93 hatch(screaching)...I actually don't have very good power steering until it's up to temp. It would probably only be a problem if you lived somewhere where it is cold all the time. We just started to get temps under 0 in Ohio, and winter's already halfway over.
