Keep going through your list as of what it could be and what part effects what. start using a test light and an ohm meter and make sure all of your wires, connections and fuses are sound.. ive just got my eg started again and tuned up nice after sitting for over 6 months, i had everything go wrong you could imagine in less than 1 tank of gas.

What is wrong if I can't advance my timing and it needs more advancment? Is the the igniter also? My distributor is all the way to it's limit and it is the only thing not replaced on the rebuilt engine.

The dizzy is turned by the cam if you can't adjust it far enough the cam is off a tooth.
