Default car wont rev past 6800k. any ideas

my car wont rev past 6800 but supposed to be 8200. any ideas. revs to 8200 if there is no load on engine(example: when clutch is in it will go to 8200) no CEL light on so its not a sensor

since it only happends under load I would go with something ignition,, (distributor, coil, igniter) or map sensor related.

Make sure you run H22 injectors too and hopefully you have a map for a H22 on that P28. Get that **** tunzered!!

Your redlining an H22 at 8200? Is it a decent build?

My buddy has a H22A4 in his 93 accord with a tuned p28 and type-s cams. He does 8200 every day and hasn't had any problems. He also isn't using his balancer shafts.

i doubt there's any power gain at 8200. 7200RPM is stock redline, 7800 is stock fuel cutoff. unless you have a built head i'd stay shifting before or at 7200.

yes its a h22 map and injectors, and a h22 makes its pow er peak at 6800 so i dont see why i would shift at 7200!! maybe 7800. it is already tuned and the car started screwing up again so i looked closer and someone cut the yellow and black wire on the map plug so it was just getting enough to not throw the cell then i dumped the clutch and it threw a cell. code 3. MAP. so i soldered in a new plug. right back to 8200. thanks for all the help. oh and frankiespeed, what we see as running good is 2 totally different things.
