Default which is better

i was planning to put a h22 in my 95 civic hatch. i later found out that i would have no cooling heating powersteering or nething else. and i had to move back the firewall. and after u finnaly get it finished u have to put in new brakes and suspension. and to top it off u dont get any traction in any gear because it weighs so little. now i found out that i can get a b16 but in for 1500 and its under 30,000 miles. and with the b16 u dont have to do much to put it in. which do u think i should do

who the hell told u that? i had a 95 coupe with a h22 and its the same thing basically. if you going to do a swap like that into that body ur gunna use it 2 race!! u dont need a/c everything is possible 2 keep though like the heat u can have and the a/c u can have it but its hard to connect all the line over and the power stearing its just a bitch with the pump cuz of the lil space your have left. as far as the brake go u only replace them if u dont wanna die obviously its a good idea to add bigger brakes to be able to brake! and the suspension all u really need is good shocks and springs to be able to hold up the motor with the added weight! but a b16 is a lot easier.

its more difficult to keep ac and ps but not impossible... move the firewall?>>? never heard so much misinformation in my life

i would go with the B its just easier.
probably have a much better front to rear weight balance than the H as well(b is lighter than h)
but if your only drag racing and money is not a problem than the H is probably better.

I would say the thing you need to do the most is some more research (which this thread is a start ). Look into both swaps more and gather the correct info on what it takes to accomplish them and also keep in mind what your power goals are as well as your budget. Dont limit options to only the B16 from the B-series family. For example if you are looking for something cheep to swap in and maybe boost later on a B18 might be a good choice. Just some things to keep in mind.

wow, where did you come across so much misinformation? you can have ac, you can have heat (in fact I don't know anyone with this swap that doesnt have heat), you can have ps, you don't have to move the firewall (never heard this either), and brake and suspension upgrades all depend on how you drive the car. I drove my H swap with my stock dx brakes for 10 months before I upgraded anything. Traction depends on tires and how you drive it, no traction in any gear is a joke, H22's aren't that strong. If you want to swap a b16, go for it, but it sounds like you are doing it for all the wrong reasons.

Also,
the only b16 swap that your going to get for $1500 is going to be an sir1 swap with a cable tanny. It wont bolt directly into your civic either and they rarely have the claimed 30K miles.

if you know people who can hook you up or do swaps... I hope these are not the same people who gave your the info on you stated in this topic. I personally would do a b series drop. H22 is to heavy, well have some trouble in turning, going need more money to get it going perfect. suspension alone going cost over 1 g if you want that sucker to turn with ease

also, try to find some more informed people to help you do the swap... moving the firewall??? ask simple questions if you have any, there are ALOT of really smart people on here, use thier knowledge as well as the "search" button to accomplish your heart transplant. good luck.
