Best suspension for 1992 4door civic...recommendations?
I have a budget of $3000. Can/should I replace eveything? What are all the different parts. This budget does not include any brake or steering modifactions but all other acpects of the suspension.
I have a 185hp b16 in the car and my slightly modified suspension can not handle it. I want something very road worthy. Imagine daily commutes down the 101 & 5fwy from Los Angeles to Orange County where sometimes my commute makes me travel late at night and the freeway is hell at 100mph with all the potholes, grooves, dips, unevensurfaces. I need a suspension that will handle that kind of driving experience.
any suggestions?
thanks!

I took my grandma's nice civic 4door and made it a crazy rocketship. Even crazier i kept an automatic tansmission and AC on the thing so grandma can still drive it. She loves the new power.

1. Whatever suspension you place on it, doing 100mph in a highway with a speed limit of 65, no suspension is going to handle it. It's only going to make it worse with the higher spring rates.
2. Why the hell are you doing 100mph anyway? Do you want to die or are you trying to be m4d tYt3 JDM y0? Either way, you should be shot on site.
3. Search. Go to the Search option and type in "suspension", "coilovers", "spring rates", etc...and read away.

u wanna spend $3000 on suspension? just buy GSR suspension and use the extra $ for parts so u can go faster than 100 mph

read up on "Road Racing/Autocross" forum and learn about suspension first to determine whats best for you. just because it was great for someone else doesnt mean its best for your car.

I'd get the Whiteline Australia full coilovers. There are plenty of true coilover sets out there within a $3000 price range. In fact, you can get the Hayame for $600. Don't go with anything that is popular, like Tokico, Tein, Skunk2/Koni, Ground Control/KYB AGX etc etc. Those were once the best and only options we had, but now there are kits like Hayame and Omnipower that not only perform better, but ride better as well. There is a "right way" to build a suspension.
Doing 100mph on the freeway is a bore. Id rather do 45 on a deserted S curve.

45 on an S curve does sound fun too.
anyway thanks people.
and when I do 100 down the freeway it's usually at like 1am-3am and no one is on the road. I am cautious of other drivers but when I am alone on the road it's time to put the little honda to a test.

100 mph not to fast on "5" **** that is just 20 over what every one else is doing any how...but if your on 101 doing that you better have your eyes about a mile or so ahead of ya... I raced a dodge Viper at speeds over 160 on "I-5" that was too fast and I could of went faster but my brain said thats to fast for any open Interstate in the States. I'm working on tuning my Civic now... it's my little side toy.... just to play with all the kids out there... good luck finding the right set up... reading is the best way... only you know what you want and besides it always feels better when you know why you got what you got.. not because some one else said it was the best... silver surfer out.... it's Miller time....
