Default B18c5 vs H22

Well it looks like I'll be saying goodbye to my LS, hopefully. And with the new found money I will be able to afford something better, and I have narrowed it down to either a c5 or h22. Now my car is being built for circuit and is daily driven. Its going into a 93 dx hatch.

My theory is as follows, h22 might be cheaper, has more power and torque, but c5 is nice and high revving and I think has more parts available.

What do you think I should go for?

i personally like the h22, have had it and an h23 so i might be bias. My friend has a b18c5 from japan and we used to run all the time. I would take him from a stop all the time no prob, but from a roll it could go either way. I like the torque from the h22, but when i drove his car it felt a lot lighter and faster, but i think because i was reving it really high. The c5 probably has more parts since its from an integra, so its really up to you, both are excellent motors in my opinion. But i would go with the h22 because of the price, i got mine from japan for 2000 installed and never failed. Ive seem type r motors go for 3000-3500 for just the motor, os if you got the m oney why not! Good luck and peace out.

H22 is better because it's higher up in the alphabet.

Plus Happy starts with H.

Bad starts with B

i dont have a (c5) but i do have just a (c). i got mine out of a type r from japan and love it. Its such a conversation piece and i love messing with gsr's, preludes even other r's. Nobody ever expects it and its great. The h22 is very torquey but the R motor is very torquey and revs forever. Yes the h22 is cheaper but the R is like "holy ****" when people see it or know that you have it.

The h22 is a bit more complicated and tighter install, it is heavier, it requires more suspension work to get your car to be a good auto x track car. But it has the torque to back it up. As Spade used to say "Horse Power is only how fast you spin your torque" so reving to 9k with only 180flbs of torque dosen't compare to revving to 8k with 200flbs of torque.

torque is what pushes you back into your seat
(all figures above are representaional and not exact)

C5 for overall performance and ease.

H22A if you think it will be cheaper then a C5 series swap.

My post was a little flame bait because usually these debates end in arguing and everyone going over the same **** that was cover'd before.
