B16a2 no spark help!
Changed my cams to ctr, did timing belt and water pump as well as tensioner.
Set my cam timing, had running for half hour and wouldn't idle, I had to feather the pedal to get it running and keep it running adjusting dizzy did nothing (advance/retard) when I shut it off I pulled the plugs and they were black and sooty. I cleaned them up returned number 1 cylinder to top dead centre it rolls, I have air and fuel but no spark. I am lost no blown fuses I need some insight, car ran like a top before this any insight would be great. This isn't my first b series build or tune up I've done lots of these but I can't figure this one out.

Oh, so you mean you failed to follow the rules and give all required, relevant information? And you're getting shitty with me, without answering any questions? So there's two strikes, but I'm in a giving mood, so I'll give you another shot. Maybe you should try actually answering questions posed to you, if you want us to help you.

I'll ask again. Exactly how are you testing for spark?

Have you tested the coil?

Have you tested the ICM?

Is the CEL on?

And finally, I will point you towards our rules sticky. It isn't optional reading, and they aren't guidelines, especially if you expect us to help you. Now pull your head out of your own ***, act right, and maybe we'll be able to help you unfuck your car.

https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...sting-3002401/

Does the CEL work?

This is the type of response that will get your thread locked. Get this thread back on track by answering the tech questions rather than posting insulting and overly defensive remarks.

Re: B16a2 no spark help!
When I installed the dizzy it was 180deg out daughter was hanging on to it so have to assume she turned the end of the dizzy. It tried misfired twice and back fed through intake. So fast forward to last nights post and then now I've replaced the coil with known good one, my multi meter is at work so I can't test icm ATM is it possible it screwed the dizzy when it was installed 180deg out?

You failed to answer ANY of the questions asked. If you aren't going to answer simple questions, you aren't going to get any help, period, end of discussion. The distributor is keyed to only go one way, and even if you did manage to **** up and monkey it on there the wrong way, no, that wouldn't have hurt anything other than your own massive ego. Don't make us ask these questions a third time.
