B16A2 camshaft holders
Ok, so the valve cover stud that threads into the intake camshaft holder near the distributor came out when I pulled the cover to replace the gaskets. Upon threading it back in, I managed to break the holder itself when I was tightening it. I barely had it tight when it just sort of crumbled like a piece of flint around the threads... I've been searching around for some time now for new oem camshaft holders and have only managed to come up with pictures of them on various parts sites. Does anyone know the part number? Were new ones ever even available from Honda?

Re: B16A2 camshaft holders
This just happened today and at an hour when most dealerships were most likely closed. Considering it's memorial day, I doubt there were many open in the first place. The closest Honda dealership to me is 35 miles away and they usually want a part number ahead of time, hence my inquiry.

Well wasn't memorial day in Canada so pardon the response. best thing I could think of is MAYBE you get luck at a pick n pull or on Craig's list. don't want to think about how much Honda would charge for the full set. really how old id the car that this happened ? never heard of it myself even

It doesn't matter where you get them, you'll still need to get your head line honed. After the cost of that, you might as well just buy a new head with cam caps.

Ah... yes, I guess it wouldn't have been memorial day in Canada...
It makes sense that they wouldn't be available separately. I got one at a junk yard anyway and I'm going to take my chances with it. I was prepping the car for sale anyway, so I'll let it be the next owner's problem. I'm not about to dump a couple grand into this thing. Frankly, I have been severely unimpressed with the EM1s. I've had nothing but problems.

Re: B16A2 camshaft holders
Goodness... You mean to tell me that cars degrade just like everything else!?
My '91 hasn't given me near the amount of trouble as this piece of crap. No large chunks of metal crumbling off the engine anyway. This is my second engine as well, so maybe I'm just having a run of bad luck with this car. I haven't even owned this thing for a full year yet... Been through an engine, 3 steering pumps and an a/c pump. I've spent more in repairs than I spent buying the car. Is what it is I guess. That's why it's for sale.
