im building an ls/vtec and i know to use a gsr water pump and timing belt. today i did a test fit of a b16 water pump on the LS block and it fits, perfectly.
anybody have a pic of them side by side, i dont own a gsr water pump yet.
Are they the same? the b16 pump fits on the integra block and the teeth fit the timing belt, so im thinking it will work

how many teeth does the B16 water pump have 19 or 21? if it has 21 I believe you use a gsr timing belt.. if it has 19teeth then use the LS timing belt.. I have the most horrid headache right now.. so I might be wrong.. do a search there are tons of posts on differences between the water pumps..be it LS/B16/B18

i did a search and read so long threads about the physics of each water pump with 17 and 22 teeth and it was very informitive. but my basic question is are ALL vtec water pumps the same b16/b18c.

You can use any Vtec water pump and timing belt, i don't think it has to be a GSR.
unless maybe if you have a gsr head.

I'm sure i'll get corrected if i'm wrong

does anyone have confirmation for sure if they are different, the b16 bolts on to the ls block. i have read all the threads and they just classify vtec and non-vtec and im just looking for confirmation

the LS water pump gear is stamped with 19T on it. the GSR one is stamped with 22T (pretty sure). As far as the B16 one goes, I am not positive. Just get a GSR and be on the safe side
