99 Civic SI Problem
So here is what is happening with my friends car and maybe someone can help me out with this. This problem has happened twice so far and it occured after about 10 minutes of driving. While on the highway, i was driving maybe 75mph and it was in 5th gear (maunal trans). All of a sudden, after being in fifth for a few minutes, it felt like it the transmission shifted into neutral all by itself. When i gave it more gas it just reved higher but did not accelerate, i checked the shifter position and it was still definitley in 5th. Then i shifted to 4th and it still felt like it was in neutral. When i shifted it back into 5th, it then went back into gear and drove fine again. This happened to my friend while he was driving it today. It was about a month ago when i was driving it and it happened to me. Any ideas what this could be. Right now, the civic need a speed sensor i believe (the speedometer doesnt work currently) Could this have something to do with it. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Re: 99 Civic SI Problem (ShankJDM)
I think its a problem with the clutch. I have a problem with my Si, Same thing happens to me but in 1st gear. I searched and it seemed that this happens when the clutch is going bad. I wouldn't take my word for it but if you search you might find your answer
