98 civic window keeps falling off track
Just got a used honda civic, and the passenger window keeps falling off track. My friend who knows a ton about Hondas popped open the door panel and checked it out. Turns out it pops out everytime I roll the window down a little past the halfway point due to the vibration pushing the guide back allowing the glass to slip out. He said the only way to fix it would be to put a support behind the track to keep it from moving. He recommended getting a metal bracket welded in.
What my question is to you all is if there is any other options? Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Your friend is none too bright. Weld? If that's the case why didn't Honda have them welded from the factory? You probably need to replace the regulator of some rubber in that door. Get in the door and look at it yourself.

X2...... The "pop" its probably from the regulator. Mine did the exact same thing... and when i took the regulator out, some of the teeth on it was worn down, causing it to pop, and go off track at times.

OH! OH! I know this one. I had this problem with the manual windows in my 00 civic dx. You just need to buy some silicon lubricant spray and just spray it on the rubber tracks. It works like MAGIC!

Re: 98 civic window keeps falling off track
Not too sure about your friend's diagnosis, but i just replaced my manual window regulator in my 96 civic because it went off the track everytime you rolled it up. From what ive learned, 96-00 civics have TERRIBLE manual window regulators, and tend to break quickly.
You can order a brand spankin new regulator from Majestic Honda for about $80 i think.
The regulator is fairly easy to replace, just make sure lube up the regulator and tracks with silicone paste.
