96 Civic/97 GSR motor swap - bogging and power problems
I drive a 96 Honda Civic with a 97 GSR motor swapped in. It's now getting colder in NY and today while driving to and from school my car started showing these idle annoyance.
While driving between 2800rpm and 4k rpm the car bogs down or gains no power. After it hits the 4k mark the car like jerks with power like all of a sudden the problem goes away. Happens mostly on second third and 4th gear. Even if i push the accelerator to the floor the car goes the same speed between those rpm until 4k hits and then all of sudden it jerks with a gain of power.
This was happening last year and i changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires and dizzy rotor and it seem to have gone away. But now its back.
Pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Re: Idle problem while driving
That's a misfire not an idle problem. Inspect the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and also check the ignition timing. Any CEL codes?

I've read a lot of forms and 8 out of 10 people who had this problem changed their icm and they never had it happen again.
