95 Del Sol...Timing Issues
Ok the timing belt on my 95 Del Sol split so I had change it. Afterwords it feels really sluggish and misses a little. I figured it was a tooth off. Well when I was doing the belt change and lining everything up there was a issue.
On the cam gear there are the two lines you are suppose to line up with the head and the one that lines up to the little pointer on the bottom. Well if I lined up the mark to the pointer the ones on the head were not parallel and if they were parallel the one on the bottom didn't match up. Which on should I go off of?

whoa! yeah the reason your car feels sluggish is your timing is off. grab a repair manual and your going to have to reset the whole timing manually. the repair manual would be your best bet, since you can read it as you go.

I have a manual. Thats what I used. It said the the two marks on the sides should be lined up parallel with the head. And the one on the bottom in line with the notch under. Well if the two on the side are in line the one on the bottom isn't and the other way around.

make sure you take the timing out of comp control before you retime it. on the passanger side near the ecu there is a conecter with two pins on it....use a paper clip or something to connect them...later guy

you have to adjust it manually. the timing mark o the bottom of the block is for timing #1 cyl to tdc. align that then do your cams so they line up correctly then put your timing belt back on and adjust the tensioner. I'm a little vague but you should get the idea.
