Adjust throttle cable. Make sure it's not pulling the throttle plate open on it's own. Then try adjust idle screw if needed.

Ummm...gas leaking

Is it actually a gasoline smell, or can it be an exhaust leak smell?

You really are giving much info for anyone to go off of. More details would help.

Leak in fuel line, a fuel line leak, or a line leaking fuel. Check these three culprits first.

Check for vacuum leaks or a unplugged hose.

It's to much of idle for a small vacuum leak so you are looking for some line disconnected or broken.

After check for fuel leaks as the guys recommend, if you not found any I have a few in the shop with purge valve broken hoses (vent line to charcoal canister)

It's coming from my exhausts but it's strong not like a normal car.. Can it be cause I don't have a CATBACK?? The person who I got it from has some kind of after market OEM exhaust on it . does that make sence? I bought the car for 300 for a winter beater

Sounds like the engine is running rich. You need to provide more detailed information.

Stock Civic?

Last tune up?

CEL codes?

Post again when you have the time to check the basics I mentioned.

Also make sure the ECU matches the engine.
