btw how much did you have to notch the block to make the rods clear?

if your planning on having 400hp on a sohc, you'll need to put race gas in this bad boy. but if your just going with pump gas you wont make 400hp. but you'll be close. im actually doing a d series build myself. cant wait to get it done. im using arias pistons and golden eagle forged rods with a complete ferera valvetrian. only thing stock in the head is the cam. came low on funds LOL.

If i was to do it again i would just shave a little off with a grinding bit on a dremel. The main bearing cap bridge is the tricky bit, if you look at mine... im very happy with the job on it

to be honest you dont need to take that much off at all with the eagle rods... i took way more off than i should of an actually broke through the crankcase using a milling machine :S had to get it welded back up.. oops!

If your gunna bother to take out the stock rods and use arp bolts you might aswell use aftermarket rods rather than put them toothpicks back in?! no? ive seen them bend under high hp... in some rare case you might be lucky but its not worth the risk

Re: 300+whp Civic D Series Turbo Build
why did you buy it without asking any questions?
if its a namebrand turbo, it will have the specs printed/stamped/engraved somewhere on it

Re: 300+whp Civic D Series Turbo Build
in my experience, eclipse turbos work very well for our honda 4 cyls. either the exhaust is very very restrictive or something isnt working, maybe the BOV is stuck open a little bit and only opens more with lots of pressure.
Id open a new thread for yourself and hopefully some people with more turbo experience could help. In your new thread, be sure to post pictures and write some details on your setup and whatnot.
