2 to 3 wire IACV and 7 to 4 wire o2 help needed. More oddball d series hybriding!
OK- more odd time questions. Have a '96 Civic HX MT, just received a y7 transplant. running the correct ecu, but had to re use the y5 harness. The ecu wants a 3 wire IACV, so I attempted a conversion. I did basically the opposite of this: 3 Wire to 2 Wire IACV Conversion for 96-98 Civic meaning I moved a12 to a14, and added a pin at a13 and ran it directly to the orange wire on the IACV pigtail. IACV code persists, idle smooths out with my finger covering the hole. Clearly, something isn't right.
As to the primary o2 sensor- followed this: how to convert 96-98 hx harness 7 wire o2 to 4 wire - D-series.org The problem I am having with it is that they did not specify WHICH red wire needs to be de pinned and tied into a11. Anyone know?

Updates- in case anyone is ever doing the 5-4 wire conversion, the one wire that needs moved @ the ecu is c24, needs tied into a11. no more primary o2 code. re checked and re ran the orange wire for the 3 wire IACV, code is gone. idle still bounces. if i cover the hole in the throttle body, the idle lowers some but still bounces. ideas?

The ECT doesn't send the temp signal to the cluster. Check your temp sender
I'd also make sure you bleed completely your cooling system if you haven't. Your bouncy idle may be air in the system.

temp gauge is back in operation. have the proper tb gasket installed, and am on my second known good, freshly cleaned iacv. still idles up and down between 1-2k rpm, dies if i cover the throttle body. spray checked for vac leaks, bled coolant system. idle will normalize if i partially cover the iacv hole in the throttle body, but the car will stall if i completely cover it.

update- after a bit of idling up and down, the idle will become very choppy and vary only 1-200 rpm. car threw code p0505 from this. cleared with scanner during this, and the idle resumed fluctuating between 1-2k rpm. im pulling my hair out over this one.
