1997 Civic right headlight problem
So my right front blinker seems to be broken or stuck.
when the lights are off the blinker works, when i turn the lights on the blinker on the dash light seems to light up a little bit, and the linker wont even turn.
anyone no what this problem is? the bulb doesn't seem to be blown out because it still turns just not when i have my lights on at night for some reason
and thanks in advance!

Re: 1997 Civic right headlight problem
Well then why does the blinker work when I turn the lights off? It only stops working after I turn the lights on. I turn the lights on. Also when it stops working sometimes I can hit the light and it will turn back on and start blinking again ....?

The blinker bulb is also the parking light bulb. If you installed a single filament bulb, it wouldn't be capable of flashing while it's on, and turning the lights on turns on the parking lights, so there ya go. Your problem perfectly explained. Go replace your bulb with a proper dual filament bulb, and watch as your problems are magically solved.

Re: 1997 Civic right headlight problem
I no this is going to sound stupid but i just went to autozone and bought the 1157a (amber) bulbs, i popped the new one in and it worked. when i tried it again after a few minutes it had the same problem...
when i turn the signal, it works...
when i turn the amber lights on, it works....
when i flip to the last stage and turn the lights on, it stops blinking....
could it be the actual housing?? because clearly it wasnt the bulb....
:'(

I suggest you check your ground wires...
I dont see how a wrong bulb would cause that. ive used brake bulbs as indicators and vice versa just as a quick fix lol.
iv had some issues myself, not the same, but it was all due to ground.

Re: 1997 Civic right headlight problem
Well your replies kind of helped.
I was having the exact same problem. I however have LED brake and rear turn lamps.
headlamps on turn signal stuck on. Headlamps off worked properly.
I removed the rear lamp saw it had water staining. Wiped it off. Replaced bulb. Problem solved.
Conclusion. Improper ground.
This is on an Integra mind you but same s different diaper.
That was not it.
Replaced flasher. Problem returned.
Found right hand front marker light burned out. Let’s see if that was the issue. Will update.
