1997 CIVIC DX, low miles, clean title. VALUE?
hi. i was wondering whether or not it would be worth it to sell my BLACK 1997 CIVIC DX, with a CLEAN TITLE. and 65,xxx ORIGINAL miles. Obtained records Car just sat while owner was in deployment for 6 years. When he returned, he decided he wanted a different(expensive) car.
recently picked it up and was debating whether or not to go all the way and keep it. or if i should just resell it. was planning buy a siR lip, grill, yellow fogs (bought), crv cluster(bought), armrest, and (eventually) redo the interior.
car runs amazing, never felt a stock motor pull this hard. everything is completely bone STOCK.
exterior is 7/10. chips, dings, etc. but nothing major.
interior is 8.5/10. seats are immaculate. no rips tears.
*EDIT. just installed FOGS and DIY ctr grill.
TL;DR
how much is my car worth? should i keep and build or sell?
thanks in advance! appreciate the input.

its on you. kbb is about 4500-5000 on something like that with that many miles. is it worth keeping to you or would u rather start with another project car that may be cheaper and more money to put toward mods on the new project.

pics would help a ton. on and KBB is a joke, if the car is show room quality, i still wouldnt spend more than 3grand on a single cam.

65,xxx miles is pretty low miles for a 97 but its the dx so if u would keep it u would be most likely eventually change the motor. I would sell it and up grade in years maybe try and get a Si so u can have a dual cam.

A good wash, clay bar, and a coat or 2 of a good wax and she'd be looking great.
I am hoping it's just the pic's but the hood isn't look great, buuttt the body is pretty straight. If I had the cash I'd be tempted to pick it up, and daily it.

Besides the tiny ding on the passenger side door, the car looks immaculate. Unfortunately it is just a Honda Civic, so you won't be getting more than probably $4,500, and that's only if a sucker comes along. But nice car, I like it!
FWIW, I had my '00 EX coupe up for sale for awhile @ $4,250 and it has two big dents and a few minor dents AND 166k miles and I got a lot of bites. Ultimately the two cash buyers I had found cheaper similars and I wouldn't budge (was really struggling selling it).
Good luck with your sale though!

Drive it for a while and save money on gas. I really like my dx. After you use it a while and get use out of it you can still sell it for the same price.
I bought a 97 not running civic dx exactly like yours for ........500 dollas. The owner was leaving town and this was a last minute desperate sell. I changed the injectors and car runs good btw I now have over 200k miles on it.
I would not give $3,500 for it I'd say 3k but I'm in tx and civics are not that hard to find

if i were you, i wouldnt take less than 33 or 34 though. even though its a 97 its got very low mileage and it looks to be a nice car. watch out for people that bitch about everything just to get a deal, such as myself lol.
