Heres some useful information..... SEARCH!!!! j/k
In 1993, Honda replaced the CRX with the del Sol. The del Sol was a Civic-based, two-seat notchback semi-convertible with lift off roof panel and motorized drop-down rear window. Though the first open-air Honda sold in the U.S. shared its front-wheel-drive running gear with other Civics, it sported a 93.3-inch wheelbase, which is eight inches shorter than the Civic hatchback, but three inches longer than the CRX. Overall, the del Sol measured 157.3 inches, making it longer than the CRX by nine inches.
The two versions of del Sol offered were built exclusively in Japan. The base model S, came with the standard Civic 1.5-liter, 102-horsepower, four cylinder engine with the Si sporting the 1.6-liter, 125-horsepower version wit variable-valve timing as used in EX and SI Civics. Standard transmission for both models is a five-speed manual, with four-speed overdrive automatic optionally availavle. Like all Civics, del Sols have a driver-side air bag, but they also have standard power windows and tilt steering wheel. The Si version additionally includes power steering (also standard on the S with automatic), front anti-roll bars, rear-disc brakes (instead of drums), wider 14-inch tires on alloy wheels (versus 13-inch wheels on steel rims) and power door mirrors. The lift-off roof is an aluminum panel weighing 24 pounds that fastens in place with two windsheids-mounted clamps. It stows in the trunk on a swing-up frame.
S: 1.5 liter SOHC PFI I-4 engine, drivers-side air bad, center armrest w/storage, passenger side visor mirror, lockable remote fuel door release, power windows, reclining seat backs, rear defogger w/timer, intermittent wipers, adjustible steering column, tachometer.
Si: 1.6 liter SOHC PFI four cylinder engine, power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, dual power mirrors, 185/60R14 tires on alloy wheels plus everything that comes with the S model.
For del Sol's second year, Honda gave the Civic-based two seater a thrid model and a standard passenger-side air bag. The new model was the top of the line VTEC, coming with a powerful dual overhead cam VTEC engine. The VTEC 1.6 liter, four cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder had 160 horsepower, versus 125 horsepower for the Si with its 1.6 liter SOHC engine. THe entry-level del Sol S kept an eight-valve, 1.5 liter SOHC engine with 102 horsepower. Automatic was never offered for the VTEC del Sol. No del Sol had ABS brakes. but the Vtec model did have larger from brakes, stiffer suspension and wider tires then its brothers.
