Well its not reliable when its leaking fluid and overheating. Its either got a coolant leak or bad head gasket most likely. Without fixing those issues people will not see it as reliable and will not want their child stranded if something goes wrong and renders the vehicle inoperable.

I could understand. So if I sell it as-is, what price would you suggest?

I traded my Rsx for a b16 ej8 +3k on his side. Well the ej8 came with 15x8 0 offset Rota grid v"s with new 195 50 15 tires. The wheels are in great shape and are white. The bad thing is. The tires are mismatched. The back 2 are brand new Kuhmos and the front 2 are brand new falkens. That being said, what do you guys think these wheels are worth? I no longer need them because I put xxr 531"s on my ej8. Thanks

The same as any other Rota out there. $600-$800. It's a knockoff wheel.

If I decided to do a swap in my del Sol and sell the old engine, what would my bone stock B16A3 with ~130k miles on it be worth? Tranny included.

Assuming the inside is as clean as the outside, you could probably see $4500 to $5k from the right buyer.

and do the colors all match? If you have some janky different-colored seats in there, with some funny looking red carpet or some ****, you're shooting yourself in the foot and turning an already niche market into a market of 1 - yourself.

Yep. So yeah, do the normal pre-sale cleaning (vacuum, wash, wax, maybe steam those carpets out a little) and you could easily get $4500-$5000 from the right buyer.

I found a '93 eg sedan on craigslist. It has 152k on the chassis, a b18b1 swap with 92k miles on it, and a T3 turbo kit (eBay?) on 7psi. Owner says it has a boost leak. No problems with the transmission. Fenders are rust free. Looks like the left quarter panel may have a small amount of rust. Needs a new battery.

I'm not looking to build a track car or anything, just something to drive back and forth to school with and have some fun with a turbo.

What do you guys think it's worth?

Here's the ad.

The asking price isn't bad, but a boost leak doesn't cost $300 to fix. Either it isn't actually a boost leak, or his mechanic likes to rip him off.

That's what I was thinking but if it's a bad turbo I just can replace it with another used one for not that much. He said that the highest offer he's gotten is $1450.

How much do you think the car is worth if it is indeed an eBay turbo kit and there's more than a small amount of rust on that left quarter panel? He doesn't know if it is or not because he bought the car with the kit already installed. I can't really tell because the kits from eBay usually have the colored wastegates and BOVs, but this one doesn't. The BOV looks pretty low quality though.

civic

Pics and info is on site above. I am looking to get back into Honda Civics and this is a 92 hatchback here's the info on craigslist: Have a 92 civic hatch b16 bottom end b18 gsr head b16 tranny golden eagle kit aem fuel rail with filter gsr blk clothe interior lowered on ksport suspension brand new wheels and tires (Effect) 16" full 2 1/2 exhaust from the header back with dc 4-1 headers p30 ecu 7lbs flywheel asking 3500

He also stated that the hood was stuck shut so he had to break it to get it open. I would need a new hood and that there is a small oil leak from the cam seal. Unknown miles on the car. new radio (pretty basic), said he just put in new arp studs, tested head compression, new battery a week old. He said the body and interior are good. No rust. It just looks like the paint is peeling in some spots. He said it is worth more than 3500 and I talked him down to 2900 because I will have to get a hood for the car (he said no way at first then asked when I could come get it if he said yes so I think he will go with it.) I am just wondering if the price is fair and everything looks alright. I appreciate everyone's feedback!

Default Re: $The Value Thread$ What's It Worth? Should I Buy? What's the Cost?

I'm trying to decide if the repairs for my 1995 Civic LX are worth it for when I resell, or if I should just to keep it as-is for a reliable beater car.

The GOOD
Most, if not all the parts I bought carry a lifetime warranty (for the purchaser only though, non-transferable)
-155k miles on a D15B7, perfect compression (did the head gasket, timing belt, water pump, etc. at 135k), and mechanically it has no issues. I'm the 2nd owner, had it since 118k / 2010, got it for nothing (girlfriend bought it but didn't have a license. I told her the parts + labor I put in would more than cover the cost of the car so it was signed over to me for $0 when we broke up).
-Oil and coolant doesn't leak.
-Just did front wheel bearings, axles, lower control arm bushings (energy suspension), sway bar links (energy suspension), upper control arms w/ball joints (moog), lower ball joints (moog) @ 152k. Also did OEM oil pan gasket.
-Outer tie rod ends were done in the past 10k miles.
-Trans shifts perfect, no slips, clanks, or anything out of the ordinary. New transmission fluid (drain and fill) about 1k miles ago.
-Tires are newish, ~20k miles on good name-brand all seasons.
-Distributor was completely replaced and carries lifetime warranty. OEM Honda cap and rotor though ~5k miles ago.
-Exhaust is new from header back (magnaflow cat and OEM midpipe/muffler).
-NGK plugs+wires, denso o2 sensors, replaced intake w/hard pipe and AEM filter (mostly for better MPG). Still have stock snorkel sitting in garage.
-Throttle body disassembled and completely cleaned, new gaskets for that and intake manifold.
-Interior is complete and fairly clean, new speakers all around.

The BAD, *mostly* cosmetic issues.
-Rear quarter panels are rusted away above the bumper, I cleaned them well and painted with some Rustoleum to get rid of the orange-ness and slow the spreading ($70 for new panels, labor is me/friends). Has rust on bottoms of doors and around rear wheel arches.
-Both rear window motors are broken (windows are held up by boards so they wont fall, $85 for both sides new).
-Right rear tire is at -0.5° and cannot be brought into adjustment (Firestone says the shocks are likely sagging a little and putting the tire out of alignment) $265 for all new shocks (Monroe brand), car rolls straight down the road though and doesn't bounce or "float"
-The clear coat has faded around the top 1/2 of the car and someone backed into me in a parking lot bending the hood in the passenger corner ($75 for new hood and ~$100 for paint (family sherwin williams discount)).
-The master brake cylinder has started leaking and needs replacement ($40), and the rear drums have never been serviced (ebrake does nothing when pulled, could just need cable adjustment).
-A/C condensor was broken/seized when I bought the car and had no belt, so no A/C.
-Rear cloth seats have some grease/stains from throwing parts and tools in. Could be cleaned, just dirty right now.

I would do the work myself to fix the car, if I could get 2-2500 after being sold. I put only like 300 miles a month on the car, and was thinking of selling in spring. However, I see civics listed around me in near mint condition (no rear quarter rust, same mileage or upto ~170k) being listed for $1500-$2000, which makes me think my car is worth at most $1000 right now.

I mean, the list is ~$600 in parts alone, I don't think it would bring it up to $2000+ resell.

Think I'm better off just driving it and asking like $1000-1200 in spring?
If the issues were fixed would I be nuts asking $2500?
Any chance this car would "come back" in value if it was mint looking? I'm not talking crazy value, but if it could hit $3k my mind would be blown and I'd keep it around and work on it.

Personally, I love the car and its been an excellent economical vehicle. But as the repair list keeps getting longer, I think to myself I would rather do it to a 2000+ Coupe w/a VTEC motor. Something that has a more dedicated fanbase than my SOHC D15B7 Sedan... I know its a long post, thanks for any input!

More time spent looking on craigslist... I found a 1995 eg hatchback DX (D15B7). Owner told me it only has 100k miles. But he said that he has recently replaced the head gasket, intake manifold gasket, valve seal, and reseated the valves because it was burning oil and misfiring in cylinder #3. It turned out there was a slightly chipped valve, so that was also replaced. It smokes less but still smokes. He says that it's the rings now. While he was doing the headwork, he also installed an exedy clutch, new flywheel, and passenger ballpoint. He isn't lying about any of the parts being replaced as he sent me pictures of the engine being out of the car, the broken valve, clutch, flywheel, etc. The body is in great condition with no rust. Only bad thing is the front bumper paint. The price is negotiable.

I assume that if the rings are replaced, the car will run for a very long time. If that doesn't work, I was thinking that I can just run thick oil to try and extend the life of the b7, while prepping a z6 for mild forced induction and just swapping that in once it's done.

What do you guys think, should I buy it?

Here's the ad.

I'm trying to buy a car for commuting to work and school.I found an 1990 integra gs for $1800. It's red, and 8/10 exterior, no dents, just that the rooftop has a tiny bit of fade. Not very noticeable. Interior is 9/10. Passes smog, and its a virgin. Stick shift, and 163k miles clean title. No tears or stains on carpet or chair... Is it a good price? Or should I try to get it for less?

Not sure if this is the correct place, but I couldn't find a place that was similar.

Default What s this Del Sol worth?

I am looking at a 1994 Del Sol 1.6 Vtec with 122,000 miles. Needs paint, fog lights, left blinker, blower motor, a few indicator lights, radio, and some door handle work. How much do you guys think it is worth?

Thanks in advance!
