Nobody really knows what is up. It's kinda frustrating as I just wish Honda would come out and hey guys we decided to screw again one more time and you'll be getting something that isn't up too par with the competition!

Honda's bringing turbocharged VTEC engines in 2015
We need the rest of the car, too. Brembo's, suspension, "R-mode", Recaro seats...
The new Focus RS will be unveiled on Monday and I expect it to be they car we all wish Honda will build.

Re: 2015 Civic Type R
I get that it would have to make financial sense... But wouldn't it? Building the car in the first place is obviously the major cost, and since USA is their biggest market, wouldn't they sell more here than anywhere else? Add that to the fact that hype around the brand brings customers to normal cars...
I'm dying to see this on american roads, as we all are. We all know Ford is in a place that we'll all remember as a great time for them with these fun ST cars... Honda could be there too with this type R.

Absolutely, it pains me to see that American Honda hasn't seen this for over a decade.
The cost of getting a car to market here is high, and the bean counters at Honda have made it clear they aren't into burning up cash without a guaranteed return. (Yet they drop a turd 2012 Civic on us...lol)
We bought a BMW because Honda/Acura didn't have anything to offer us. And we couldn't be happier. If I wasn't such a cheap *****, or if I had *****, I'd have another BMW in the driveway and not worry about what Honda is doing.
But they just do things so well, it's hard to ignore them completely.

Re: 2015 Civic Type R
My faith about the R coming to the US comes and goes, almost daily. lol I think we are about a month away from hearing the news.
This article refers to the 'world premier' of the car. Does that mean its the car everyone is getting, or the select few? As much as I hate saying it, the hype has me looking very hard at other options, getting excited about what other companies can offer.

Re: 2015 Civic Type R
I still don't see the North American buyers getting the hatch CTR.
It'd be a dramatic change in philosophy for our markets if they do that.
I still believe we're going to see a power boost in our currently projected cars. Either a sort of Super Civic Si, or an Acura ILX Type S kind of thing.
The funny thing is, we'd end up with a better suspension than the CTR hatch that everybody's drooling over. At least, it'd be better for what most people would do with their cars.

DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: 2015 Civic Type R
Except for the fact they still lose to the Focus RS. If they go with it in an Acura, I am definitely moving on. We all know it's just a badge that provokes higher insurance rates. Oh well, we shall see...

Re: 2015 Civic Type R
Regardless, if it wears an H or an A, as long as it has a good engine, suspension, good brakes, heavy bolstered seats and a good 'mission...I will be game.
I'm heading to the Chicago Auto Show on Sunday (most likely) and cant wait to see the Golf R and the RS. Both should be there.

Re: 2015 Civic Type R
one thing is for certain: Honda IS Building Turbo I4 from a Ohio plant. YES that is Factory Turbo engines. i think that the turbo I4's will be available in the US soon. Honda is investing over 300 million to building these new engines. not cars.

Car and Driver just put the nails in the coffin for the R that has been discussed.

-though at the end of the article, they do make note we will get a 'R of our own'.
