I find this post ironic, because well, I own a 2006 Civic LX. I also own a 2007 Civic SI. Can you say the same? If not, well then I guess you can't really comment on this since YOU are most likely the one that hasn't gone on anything more than a test drive in an R18.</TD></TR></TABLE>

My sister own's a 2006 Civic Ex, and I've probably driven it 500+ times. Before I had my Si, we'd always take her car, wherever we went, because it is a hell of a lot nicer than my '94 Accord. For some reason, she never wanted to drive, so I would drive everywhere.

Also, as Rico already asked, I'd like to know exactly what you'd do to make a 'stout' R18 that could take on an SI that wasn't turboed. Answer me that! I doubt you will, because the answer doesn't exist. Nothing short of a turbo, right now, could make an R18 run with a k20.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Yeah you're right. There is nothing out yet. I really thought I remembered seeing somewhere, where there was an internal build up of an R18. Can't find it. Must have been my imagination. My bad.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by RICO_ &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Hes got a turbo. But I still don't think he can beat an Si badly. Especially not one with bolt-ons. 7-8PSI on an R18 BARELY makes enough power to creep away from a stock Si.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Your precious AJP has a kit for the R18 that will put 220hp and 200+trq. Plenty to kiss an Si goodbye.

For a person who threw a tantrum when someone asked "RICO, are you sure they were racing", you sure are full of ****. You might have 'beaten' a Mustang GT, but he either wasn't racing, or couldn't drive, end of story. I've spanked a supercharged Mustang GT (5.0) in my bone stock '94 Accord. It was great, and really funny, but I know it was only because the guy couldn't get traction. This is most likely the case in your "race".</TD></TR></TABLE>

Little boy you've got an answer for everything don't you? Everything we can do you can do better huh?

The damn Mustang was racing. I could tell by the insanely loud sound of a high-revving V8 engine. And it looked to me like he could drive just fine. Didn't mis-shift or bounce off the limiter. And tell me how a Mustang can't get traction when we start from a 50mph roll on the highway?

As far as i'm concerned....and most people would agree.....looks like YOU are the one that's full of soo much **** that I can smell it from here in San Antonio.

Next time you wanna bullshit me try harder...don't just shoot **** out of your *** in a lame attempt to put up an argument against me. Your assumption was ill-thought and very poor....and judging by what i'm reading now i'm beginning to think alot of claims you've made in the past are complete and straight up BULL-****. And i'm willing to bet 90% of them are.

Beat a Supercharged 5.0 in a stock '94 Accord.....cmon....do you really expect anybody to believe that? You're gonna catch alot of heat for making that claim. Winning the first 30 ft. of a race because he can't get traction doesn't constitute winning the race. Get real.

You remind me more and more of THIS guy.........

That quote is sigged.

You've got alot of ***** to come on here and tell me I'M full of ****. You're the moron that thinks one should warm up their car FULLy in order for the oil to properly circulate and prevent damage. You're the moron that ALSO thinks an Si with I/RH/E and a Reflash will spank an SRT-4 even though the reflash BARELY improves top end power by a couple HP.

You're just some little guy on here trying to impress people. Well nobody is impressed by you. And nobody ever will be. So pull out your legos and Power Rangers and go play in your corner.

I hardly ever sig quotes....but every once in a while I'll find a comment that's just so ridiculously STUPID that it becomes sig-worthy.

This was that comment.

You're the moron who claims he can beat a Mustang GT because his I/RH makes his Si some sort of rocket car, that "no stock Si could ever pull on".

I hate Fords, and I hate even more to defend them, but the 4.6 has a great power/torque curve. You're not pulling on one with your setup, from a roll, or from a dig. Maybe it was a V6?

I raced the guy in the SC Mustang twice, light to light. At the second light, he actually rolled down his window and said "You're lucky I didn't get traction, or I would have smoked you. I'll get traction this time." I laughed because he was absolutely right. The moron couldn't drive, but I beat him, nonetheless. The first time, he nearly nailed the curb because he got so sideways. I don't care about it. I wasn't trying to impress anyone AT ALL. I was making fun of you because you think your Si is invincible.

Stop quoting half of my statements.
Here is the other half you missed, just in case you want to add it in.

No sorry...I don't think my Si is invincible. Plenty of them out there that are faster than mine. You win some you lose some....that's how it is when you race. And again....you're making yourself out to look smart stating the Mustang's Power/Torque curve....but you're forgetting about Power/Weight ratio. And the Mustang has ALOT of weight to sling around. This is what I was getting at earlier when I mentioned that torque doesn't always win races. In the end I was only about 1/2 car in front after he jumped out by a car. It was the closest race I had ever been in since I raced my buddy's Speed Protege at 10PSI.

And NO it wasn't a V6....otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. And no it wasn't a V6 with dual exhaust either. The rear bumper had the dual exhaust cutouts and the exhaust to match, and when he rolled up I could hear the distinct and unmistakeable growl of a V8. I'm not stupid. I know the difference between the two.

You don't want to believe me....fine. I don't have to prove anything to you. But most of the people that actually do know me on this site know that i'm not the type of person to make up bullshit stories. That's all there is to it.

And you didn't beat the guy in the S/C Mustang 5.0.........he beat himself! A real race goes beyond a simple 60-100ft.

Insanely loud? Stock 4.6L GTs are pretty quiet, even at full acceleration.

TORQUE!!! I've seen Mustangs downshift on the highway, and lay down a 100ft strip of rubber, at 70mph.

edit:the power to weight ratio is better for the Mustang...fyi. There is 14.4 lbs for every hp in the si (factored at 200hp) and only 12.5 lbs for every hp in the GT.

You're dreaming. Go pull up a video of a stock Mustang GT on a dyno turn the volume up and tell me how quiet you think it is.

Every car is loud on a dyno. You're in a building at full throttle. Of course it is going to be loud.

The first was probably over a 1/4 actually. The second light has two lanes for only about an 1/8 mile before it merges down. And he was on it the whole time. He just couldn't get traction. I am not trying to impress anyone with it, I probably would have beaten him on a moped. I am just saying, any race, no matter what cars are involved, is all on the driver. Period. If you can't drive, a fast car means nothing.
The guy in the GT you "raced" beat himself. If he could drive his car as good as you can you drive yours (take your word for it), then you wouldn't have a chance.

I think *some* people are forgetting that there is a LOT more to a car than how much power it puts down. Lets not forget, the SI has an LSD, a FAR superior suspension setup AND a transmission geared much more aggressively for 'racing'. 200 WHP in an LX, 200 WHP in an SI, the SI will win no doubt.

I think I even once read somewhere that the SI's transmission multiplies the torque about 30% greater than an R18's tranny. Not saying that's a fact, just something I remember reading once.

On topic? No offense, but your OP had no topic, other than the fact that TSI put out an R18 turbo kit. You presented no questions, so yeah if you want to stay on topic, then the thread definitely needs to be closed.

I haven't read the middle pages of this thread because I thought it would be dead by now... but heres a thought...

Aside from POWER... even if the R18 was rated 220hp 200tq, vs a stock Si.... What about gearing and powerband... The Si has a top speed of 132mph stock (tranny max possible speed is ~174mph). Just because the R18 has more power, if the gears aren't putting it down the way they should for maximum power (which they dont, because its designed to be econo-boxitron)...

I really could care less anymore, im just saying.... power isnt everything in a race.

I don't think anyone should care, but apparently they do for no apparent reason.

ZOMG Si'S!

ZOMG I CAN BEAT Si'S WITH BASE MODEL!

ZOMG YOU ARE TOO POOR TO SPEND EXTRA MONEY ON A CIVIC!

ZOMG I CAN SMOKE YOUR *** WITH NOS OR TURBO!

Seriously.

The Si is a great car. It handles wonderfully, costs little money, and has an inspiring engine. However, going fast in a straight line is not it's intention. So arguing straight line performance between the cars is kind of dumb. It's basically bench racing.

On the other hand, a base Civic is thriftier and has more available creature comforts. It's still a nice handling car, and power adders can help close the gap.

They're the same damn car in 2 different flavors. Who gives a **** about this? If you have an Si, congratulations. If you have a base Civic, congratulations. If you throw money at it either way, more power to you. I don't know why it's such a huge point of contention between owners.

So why don't you have any videos of you beating an 06+ Si?? You were able to shoot these videos of numerous other types of cars that you have beaten that the Si is capable of beating as well.

If you knew people were gonna doubt you...don't you think it would have been a good idea to shoot at least ONE video of your many claimed victories over an 06+ Si?

Instead of attacking Enrique and putting him on defense don't be so god damn demanding.

If/When he gets tired of everyones **** whats to stop him from no longer contributing to the forums? Your scaring off a major asset!!

That said, we are all curious to see you vs an Si, however I understand that everyone doesn't have a civic si next door with a neighbor willing to race. We're patient.

He made a pretty steep claim and im asking him to prove it. That's all there is to it.

Don't you find it a little odd that he was able to get videos of all these other cars, but not a single one of an FG2 even though he claims to have beaten them?
