where did you get the C-west side mirrors? I went to the C-west us and japan website and all they have available is the body kit.

i like the look of those mirrors....i had a similar set on my DC2.

automatics ftl dm8m, you need a k20a and a 6spd swap asap, I wonder if this has ever been done. I need to go research now.

Thanks dude! I got the C-west mirrors from a friend that has a shop here in the Philippines. He bought it from Japan in a D1 autoshow I think.

This is the reason why I went with SOHC & A/T:

The time I got the car. I was kinda retired from car tuning. I only wanted a no fuzz, daily driver car. Had no plan of modifying cars for speed, or show anymore that time after I wrecked my ITR DB8. Running an 80mph turn then the car spun-out (thanks to hydrofoil) hitting a parked van.

However, the ITR's making a comeback. Meaner this time as I'm throwing in a turbo kit to it's H22 Type S engine (14.2 sec@1/4 mile w/ HKS intake,Mugen headers, open downpipe,a032 tires-hard,stock internals), hoping to hit mid-12's to mid-11's with a stage 1 turbo. Doing the rebuild now.

I also researched about the possibility of swapping the engine with a DC5 Type R K20, but the tuners here dismissed of such thought as it won't function efficiently with the FD1 Civics. One reason is if the DC5's ECU is used, the gauge cluster won't function. The FD1's ECU can't be used as the DC5 K20 is not DBW. If a Standalone ECU comes out for the Civic 06+, then that would be great.

However, for now the better option is to do a CTR FD2 K20 (built even better than the DC5 one's). So I can only hope CTR FD2's in Japan crash so we can finally import their junk engines!

its not the engine but the wiring and sensors. I can swap my engine in my civic Si to a JDM K20A so long as I retain my cars wiring and all the original sensors the engine will run.

I dont have anything against R18's but I always see them riced out. I dont wanna throw the rice word around but almost half the R18s have have led in the interior. Or a ridicoulous body kit and wing when its an automatic.

Im probably gonna get flamed for this comment but after that red r18 with hks power in big *** letters I recently have been turned off by this fad.

Is that so? Yes, I remember now. Somebody had done the swap with a DC5 ITR engine into an 8th Gen Civic. Just can't remember what forum that swap was posted in. The swap was my choice before I love the Type R's. But after some research, installing a turbo would be the bang for the buck upgrade for anyone with R18. Will cost less and will be less of a hassle.

The TSI turbo will cost me around $3000-3500 including the p&p harness+$350 for the install. The DC5 ITR engines here cost around $5000 w/ install. The DC5 ITR's=185-190whp stock, R18 w/ TSI turbo kit=200-210whp @ 6-7psi. It can still push more with increased boost.

Nevertheless, if I can redo my choice when I bought the car. No doubt, I'd take the one with the K20a in manual tranny. Throw in a turbo or supercharger in there, then be just fast, really really fast!

Why would you want anything "Molded" to your car? That is the Dumbest **** ever. So if ya just happen to have to take the bumper off your gonna have to do paint and body work too.

There is no mention of me wanting anything "Molded" to my car. Therefore your commentary is useless.
