Default to mod or not to mod... that is the question...

So I'm dumb and bought an automatic 07 Civic EX... i am now feeling the pains of having an automatic (aka slow) car.... so I'm in the market for a new car... in the mean time... should I start modifying my current car to appease me in the mean time or just plan to scrap it all together and wait until I get a new car?

If mod... where's a good place to start?!?

i think u should just slap some lowering springs and good looking rims. and call it a day. maybe some tint if u dont have any. just make it a nice daily driver

btw those ex rims are just plain hideous

I would say do not mod it.. maybe if you want some new wheels (and I'm not talkin about 20's) make sure they will fit on whatever car u have next in mind..

Boost it if you ever want it to make any sort of respectable power

your car, do to it whatever you want to do... but yeah, some rims would definitely be good, otherwise it's hard to say... i mean, auto or manual, the EX is quite underpowered compared to the Si, but at the end of the day it's your call... if you really think about getting a new car, don't do much to this one

usually you can get more out of a less modded car (examp: if i were to buy a car i would buy it stock so i can DIY the i/h/e and whatnot) but like everyone is saying, if you want to mod it, mod it, but if you are serious about buying a new one, keep it stock, you will rid of it faster.

do not mod, give it to your gf. buy a manual. 3/4 of the people I know said they wish they had a stick when they had an auto. Why didn't they just buy one? Parents. kids need to grow up.

i would definitely say just leave it stock if you're just going to get rid of it. unless you have some extra money to throw around, then i would say just the basic i/h/e but ONLY if you want to waste some money

The stock EX wheels look fine. The ride height of the vehicle is more than tolerable and mods won't make our 140 horse power car anything but louder. I am not going to do anything other than tint and maybe eventually a drop in K&N filter. Mods will lower the value of your car. But it is your car and I have other cars that I have modded just not my Civic.

I say you should do all the cosmetic mods you want to make it your car. Just don't buy any performance parts for it since it's pretty useless. And if you are already in the market for a new car, get something sporty if that's what you are looking for then spend the money on performance for that car. There is nothing wrong with driving an automatic.

I wont mind if you leae your bf for a girl.... If the car is too plain for you spice it up some. Don't bother with the ould exhaust and/or intake that will just **** people off and lower the value of your car. If you want some extra curb appeal the Honda kit is cool looking and so are their 17" wheels (depending on the color of your car). Other wise just drive it, love and when you are ready...leave it....haha.....good luck on your decisions.....

:: sigh :: I know! The performance shop I ordered from......their distributor ordered the wrong set. They ordered the Pro-S instead of the Pro-C.

Nearly a thousand dollar difference between the two....how could you screw THAT up??

Anyway........

I called him yesterday and he said they've corrected the problem and to call him back in a couple days. He drop-shipped them directly from Skunk2 to the shop here in San Antonio.

So they should be arriving in a few more days. I got really pissed when I called him cause I was getting the run-around for over a week...."oh call back in a few days"......"oh I still haven't gotten a hold of him"........"oh he still hasn't called me back!" The guy that owns the shop is a good guy....never really had any problems in the past with him....but I was beginning to get fed up at that point...not really at him....but more at his supplier/distributor.

So I basically told him to get me an answer VERY SOON or I'll take my money elsewhere cause I HATE being kept in the dark.

The next day I had an answer.

HFP suspension & HFP/Si rims and have a nice life

modding your car will only depreciate the vehicle
The civic was just announced as the #1 selling car which is great.... BUT ... for you means that when u go to sell it, your market will be flooded.

Will joe blow looking for an auto for his 17yr old daughter want one visible modded with loud junk or rattles everywhere or one that has been kept in good condition with service records and warrant(eeeeable) lol modifications & accessories.
