I want to turbo charge my 2008 civic si help?
Heres the thing i want to turbo charge it but... $ is that problem any suggestions for a cheap turbo thats good quality and still going to give me good performance?... Please and thank you

And make sure you get a really friggin' good tune on a stock K20z3. I've seen and heard nothing but bad things from unbuilt k20z3 turbo motors.

Ok, you have a conflict of interest here. If you want something cheap, it is not going to be reliable.
First, there is nothing that is "cheap" that I know of (Turbonator excluded). The 2 I know that have any type of track history is the Greddy and the AJP. Both will run you over $3K plus some parts (Blow-Off Valve, etc) and labor.
Second, neither really run super great. The AJP runs pretty well from what I heard, but uses a Reflash (I believe). That means you can't adjust your boost without reflashing the ECU everytime. The Greddy has a biggy back unit that will allow you to control boost, but I have not heard a lot of positive feed back on that system. The Greddy piggy back unit tries to "trick" the MAF sensor to adjust fuel tuning. The problem is that the ECU learns and tries to adjust the adjustment.
As for reliability, Neither have been out long enough to really know how reliable they are. Both have only been out for a year or so. Many people who have gotten these turbo kit's decided to remove them for some reason or the other.
Until Hondata comes out with some solid user interfacable fuel tuning application, I don't think you will find any "great" turbo kit for this engine.

I'll tell you a little story about a guy named me.
Me tried to be cheap and turbocharge his 2000 Accord. He picked out some basic parts and contacted a local 'builder' who said he had experience working with turbos. He built a cheap log manifold and a 'brand new' turbo.
It took months to get my car 'ready'.
When it was 'ready', it was leaking oil because he JB-welded a return line into the oil pan. The turbo was used junk from a smashed up DSM and it was leaking oil as well. The manifold looked like it was welded by Me's *** cheeks, and it was 'tuned' using a piggyback system only in the sense that it squirted out more fuel when Me accelerated. Well if you have 9 grand to spend why do you want to go cheap? You come in seemingly clueless about turbos and say you want to spend as little money as possible, that sends off every warning flag that you're a n00b that will cheap out and ruin their own car.
I personally wouldn't bother turbocharging the Si at the moment until a real standalone like hondata comes out. Otherwise you're going to have issues with proper tuning like stated above.
You cannot cheap out on this kind of stuff, it leads to disaster.
Besides why are you 18 with 9g in cash after getting a new Si? Save that **** for college or your own place or something. I wish I did...

Can you share these stories? B/c there are VERY few built K20Z3's...and there are a few dozen K20Z3's that are pushing over 350whp...including myself, with no issues.

I don't who told you that, but it is completely wrong. You need a boost controller to control your boost. The current reflash has a boost cut that is set at 8.5psi, as a safety feature. So with a 4.5lb wastegate spring and a limit of 8.5lbs. You have that small range to play with. I never really use my boost controller b/c I don't need it. I run at 4.5- 7psi just off the spring and occasional boost creep when it's chilly outside. I've never had to turn it up to do some damage to someone's ego.
You don't use a piggy back to control boost with the greddy kit. It's just their way to do a very basic tune so you can get to a dyno have it done right.
I've had my AJP kit installed and running great since Nov 06. They've had their kit installed on there Si for a quite a bit longer than that. There have been a few people that removed the kit from their car (Greddy or AJP), but definitely not most.

Well you can certainly get a good reliable and performance worthy turbo setup...as well as the braking and suspension work to go with it for under 9 grand.
But I would highly suggest using your college loan/savings/social security money for college instead.

Well i'm just trying to help, I blew about 5 grand breaking and fixing my car when I was stupid and 17 so if I can stop one person from ruining their car and their finances it's worth it.

good old trial and error. some people learn the hard way like I have so many times in the past. I've learned not to be cheap when it comes to anything you/I depend on.
