Default Emblems

Does anyone know what kinda glue is on the back of the civic, and H emblems? I am thinking of taking mine off and painting them either black or gun metal, then putting them back on. I want them go back on as strong as there were when i took them off.

I was thinking of removing my "civic" emblem off my 06 Si. However, I am concerned there are some holes in the trunk lid for the emblem. Does anyone know if these holes actually exist?

I am going to try the "dental floss saw" technique tonight. From what I understand you simply use a sawing motion behind the emblem until it gets removed.

I will post more information later once I get it done.

i completely debadged my 07 fg2....soooo clean....there aren't any holes underneath the 'civic' and 'Si' emblems, just adhesive...there are two holes under the honda 'H' emblem though...i just pulled with my fingernail...since our cars are relatively new, the adhesive wasn't cured thoroughly...it was still soft, not hard and brittle....

Make sure you don't wait around before you remove the civic badge especially if you have a darker colored car because you'll get uneven fade from the spot beneath the badge.

finger nail polish remover, mineral spirits. If some of the tape is still stuck on use a rubber wheel (you can get one at an autozone or someplace like that) with a drill and it will take it off and not mess up your clear coat. It also takes off bumber stickers and decals no prob.

Break Cleaner and a Rag once the break cleaner hits the adhesive it becomes soft then use a rag or fingernail gently or if you have rubber gloves work great also... thats what i do and works everytime...

Anyone know of any sites that can do custom emblems. I've been thinking of replacing the Civic emblem. And the smoke paint, is that found at any local hobby shop?

Heat it up with a hairdryer and use fishing thread or even floss to take off, lol.. then use goo gone to remove any excess glue.

Side decals come off with the careful use of a hair dryer. Mine came off with no problems.

when people here recomended 3M glue, its called Plastic Emblem & Trim Adhesive that is. As far as removing the residue from the emblems, i used bug and tar remover.

just used the hair drier and dental floss method. worked great. i used a soft rubber block to get off the majority of the adhesive, then elmers sticky out to clean up the rest. worked great.
