CV Joint/Axle
I have a 2008 Civic EX. I took to Honda dealer for oil change in April. They told me I need to replace my right & left CV Joints/Axles. The service guy asked if I ever heard creaking when I turn and I said Yes so it made sense. My car has like 96K miles. They said it would cost about $800 so I delayed taking it back for a while until I could afford it. So I made an appointment took it in after like an hour they brought me into the repair area where my car was jacked up and told me you don't need this done: nothing is leaking, the boots are fine etc. They basically told me the guys that do the inspections in the oil service express were wrong. I certainly appreciate saving $800. Yet I do often hear metallic creaking or clicking when I turn my wheels occasionally when I am driving but it is most noticeable when I back out of a parking spot and have to turn wheel to go in whatever direction. Is that normal?

Re: CV Joint/Axle
no, but it could be a simple spring isolater or mount creaking from whatever. I wouldn't worry about it until it gets more pronounced.
I just had my clutch replaced and the driver side made a god awful creaking going over bumps for about a half hour, then it suddenly went away.

My civic has 127k mile on original axles. They pop when turning tight. Boot was leaking on one of them but a tighten the clamp a bit. These suckers are gonna stay on until they break..lol
