So my buddy said he had the same problem with his galant and he said it was the CV Axle (?). WHen ever i turn right, my car makes a ticking noise (TICK TICK TICK TICK) really quick. Im also leaking a little oil, is that a correct diagnosis, it being the Cv Axle. I took my car to a honda dealership and they said $95 just to look at it, then plus labor and parts. So any help of what it might be and how i can replace it would be awesome

look at the boots on either end, if you see a tear in the boot and grease everywhere (which it sounds like you do), you need a new CV joint. Its easier to replace the entire axle than try and replace the joint.... I'd just go that route, axles arent terribly expensive, nor are they difficult to change if you have the right tools.

Generally CV joints will fail when the boot is ripped. Generally its the outer boot. you should be able to turn the steering wheel and take a peek at the axle. That should tell you what shape the boot is in. If the boot is torn and its clicking/clunking when turning your best bet is to replace the axle half-shaft.

cool, didnt see the second response, I will take a look at it, and i could find it if i searched probably, but how much is it to replace the boot, axle, does it make adifference??

I had that problem with my 2005 Accord...the CV boot was torn and wasn't lubing the axle properly. Try to have that boot replaced asap it can cause worse problems in the long run. I noticed the noise more on harder turns or U-turns.

ya, usually the sharper the turn the more apparent the noise is, where can I get this part, do i go to autozone, or where are common places that i can go

I just picked up an 03 and ran into this problem. I replaced my right axle shaft with a nice used one from the junkyard ($50)....it had a broken U-Joint and robbled like crazy. Long story short, I needed to get the car on the road so I bought a GSP axle shaft from Advanced Auto - $80, brand new/not remanuf., lifetime warranty, etc. I'm very surprised at the high quality and its been running great so far. Dont even bother replacing boots....get a new half shaft and be done.
