I have heard of this conversion being done although I think it's slightly more complicated than that. But it hasn't been discussed in here in quite a long time so it seems the majority of people are happy with the throttle response the way that it is.

(drive by wire is what i was asking about).....is there any way to get rid of dbw??? the throttle response is terrible on the k20z3's. i know you can swap the rsx-s throttle body and ecu but is there any way to get of dbw??

oic.....but is there any way for our car to get a stand alone ecu without depedning on hondata to give us a K-pro? because without a stand alone ecu how else are we going to tune our cars for more performance? our stock ecu cant be tuned so yeah that really sux, and now were stuck with about this much horse power or maybe we could make just a little more.

first you need to switch out the TB, get the cable gas pedal, then the ECU which needs to be spliced in as a piggy back, then you need a new speedometer, kpro, and tuning. if you have a few thousand dollars to spend, why not?

Re: converting fly by wire to /throttle cable?
for what you're asking, nobody here can give you the answer you want. To most ppl, converting is a lot of work...not everyone has the funds to commit to a project like that. You can't make a thread asking this question and expect someone to post step by step instructions for you. Everyone here speculates about the process of converting but truthfully none of us can really do it.
advice, learn both wiring diagrams for the RSX and Civic then figure out how to run both ECU's....cuz that obviously is the only way right now. If I was truely serious about this then my first step wouldn't be to ask people on a website how to do it....i'd do my own research.

Re: converting fly by wire to /throttle cable?
This is a stupid thing to do if you ask me especially in a new car. Why waste so much money for better throttle response? The response on the SI isnt bad at all and if you havent heard the TBS and Gaskets can up the throttle response. If you want better response just put that money towards a turbo or SC and then you eliminate the problem.
Waste of money/time IMO and if Honda felt it was better for the SI im sure they would have used the DBW system. You want DBW go by and RSX-S and youd be faster in the long run.

Re: converting fly by wire to /throttle cable?
Hasport was the first company to do it.
The reason you dont see it more is because you lose your speedometer, tachometer, cruise control and DBW amongst other things by doing it.

it's been done with everything working properly; you just have to keep the stock ecu to run the dash and accessories.
