civic CTR 220 hp lsd 6 gears, worse suspension cost 30k+ <<<if brought to states.
cobalt ss 260 hp lsd 6 gears, better suspension cost 24-25k

Please god tell me you're 16. Not only do you type like a 16 year old, but you reason like one as well.

No one is going to say the Cobalt is not an excellent buy for the money. HOWEVER people are going to argue that the build quality on them, for some people, is more of a deciding factor to look elsewhere.

While price wise it is comparable to the Civic you're comparing a forced induction vehicle to one that is not. Why not compare an $18k Civic SI with a ~$6k in an FI kit (turbo or supercharger) and other goodies to the Cobalt? Instead you're comparing a NA vehicle - the European version if you're referencing the rear torsion setup - having it hypothetically imported and slapping some random price on it. It really does not add up.

I've DRIVEN a Cobalt SS/SC before....and it does NOT handle as good as the Si does. And unless they have completely re-done the suspension on the newer turbo model I doubt it would handle better either.

Have YOU driven BOTH cars? Or are you just spewing bullshit based on what some fanboy told you?

And the JDM CTR that you're referring to would kill a Cobalt in handling. "Worse suspension"! Gimme a break. And you've got to be dreaming if you think you're getting a CTR into the states from Japan for $30K.

The UKDM CTR does have shitty suspension.

Shitty suspension in comparison to what? I have an inkling you or I couldn't push it to the limit where it becomes "shitty". Just because Top Gear says it's crappy and slower than the EP3-R doesn't necessarily make it the worst car ever that people are making it.

Lol, he kept bouncing between the EDM CTR with the torsion and the JDM CTR.

It's why I asked how old he was. There's probably a trapper keeper with Cobalt SS doodles in it.

actually im 20 sorry if my typos give you a hard on and if you really want to start some argument about how the CTR should come here....lets look at the wide spectrum of CTR, ITR, honda fans myself included can we afford a 30k car? most of us....no some sure yeah go for it but if most of us cant honda wouldn't give two ****s if we want it here or not. and im not some ss fan just pointing out thats its better....period no if ands about it...ok lets look at build quality sure it might be little less on the interior ect but under the hood....you guys are funny want me to drop the STOCK SS ring times? but this is an argument i cant win....with 4 year olds and ricers....i drive an EK and autocross it and research to the best of my ability so sorry that theres better options than an 8th gen si out there dont get mad at me talk to honda....with the s2k on the way out why dont you go beg them not to become a toyota look alike? but anyway i knew there was a reason i only used HT for the market and this was it immature die hard rice boys arguing about dumb ****. i wonder why HT sucks now.....go live in the basement together building hondas hahaha

and thanks for proving my point it would cost more than 30k you agree? good prove the point some more and lets pull some G numbers? and i know they tweeked it a bit for the turbo model but the plain dry point is the CTR is not here and thus it dosent matter so we have the si and i know the si ring numbers are less than the SS numbers h0rs

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html there ya go just because they don't live in the basment im sure motortrend is full of ****....so thats why the ss was ranked before the si....<<<<2009 numbers

Your reading comprehension is that of a 5th grader. You should celebrate at Chuck-E-Cheese's.

You ignored all the points I addressed that crushed your "argument".

And to point out one of your last statements, if the SI's "ring numbers" are less than the SS numbers, wouldn't that make it faster Think before you type otherwise it just makes you look like more of a moron.

As a interesting side note, the top finishers of that Motortrend test are all turbo vehicles....with the Civic SI being the first non-turbo out of the group.

Cliffs:

- Your argument is still horrible
- Your writing skills are horrible
- Your sentences make no sense and are all over the place - random rant about something looking like a toyota?
- You're an 09
- Civic's won't change for 2010

nobody's perfect bud and the argument isnt if the civic si was the best N/A it was the ss and the si no if ands or buts i never said the si was a shity car. and im sure if you had some common sence you could say hey look he made a mistake about the ring phrase have a good laugh and move on but nope your on hondatech bring the flames so crush the argument? but yes we get the point that the civics wont change....never did i argue that point....and the fact that a ctr would cost 40k plus as everyone has agreed means they will never come here at least not in there current jdm state.... so have fun win the argument =P glad i can say im a car guy and not a raw honda guy...big ego boost lmao

The sports car market is sometimes tough to approach in the states, most sports car buyers here care more about 0-60 and quarter mile times as opposed to european enthusiasts who value handling a bit more. I think honda knows this and has been smart about picking their battles. Si>SE-R...theres really not many other competitors when looking at NA only cars.

The Si has done consistently well in the SCC market and given the state of the global economy, and working for a global corporation myself...Honda will most likely go with the sure thing IMO. Not many companies are taking big risks right now. Releasing an AWD turbo Civic may be disastrous. An updated FWD, probably with a little bit more power but same basic setup.

I've ran a SC SS and gotten beat, as far as handling goes I can't say because I've never driven one.

A little off topic but I'd thought I'd put my 2 cents in.
