Check your vacuum lines, look for broken or cracked lines heat kills those things, listen for hissing or you could use long nose pliers and squeeze the small lines to see if there is a change in the idle.
Take a good look at the brake booster also feel around it for V leaks.

yea, look at your side engine mount closely. i've replaced 2 of them on my friends cars. they will look fine but they arent. the TSB that is out for them says there is liquid visible, on one of the cars i did there was no liquid visible but the mount was definitely bad.

Hello,
I have a 2007 Honda Civic Coupe DX.
Current Problem: I'm getting a loud vibration but the thing is; I can only hear and feel it when I'm in the car. Sounds like something is drilling under my feet (brake/gas peddle). Checked muffler assembly, that's fine. Replaced top passenger side engine mount.
Any other suggestions?

and engine mounts some times looks good but to really check, on the passenger top mount, there should be a small gap between the engine side and chassis side of the mount, over time that gap gets smaller and its metal on metal, you can check for that

Thanks allot Bigboybob,
No I have not taken my car into Honda for the crack block recall check. I'll look into that.
I replaced the passenger top mount just one month ago but I'll check the other mounts as well.
I'm new to this site and I'd like to know if there's a list on this site for known Honda recalls parts and so forth that I can take a look at?

Thanks for the advice on "brake the engine in drive and reverse and watch the motor mounts torque over "
I will try this to see as I'm pretty sure now its my engine/trans mounts that's gone as this is a used 2007 DX coupe.

All of my mounts look good but because its a used car and I only changed one mount (Passenger side top front mount) I'll change the rest of them and see how it goes.

Problem fixed on my 2007 Honda Civic Coupe DX regarding the loud vibration/drilling sound.
It turns all of my engine/trans mounts were replaced when I purchased the car but I'm saying this because the engine/trans mount (part # 7) behind the battery, the Air Filter and the computer (Driver side), that was installed incorrectly. The movable part which connects to the mount was installed up-side-down (so wrong) which caused the engine to vibrate because it was metal against metal as the engine was not sitting correctly.
Problem solved and all is well.

Yes, I recently was experiencing the same problem. There are 4 mounts total on the civic coupe from 06. My lower engine mount and Trans mount went bad and were the reason for the bad vibrations at idle. The vehicle got so bad that the lower mounts completely failed and was causing problems with the CV axle due to the large amount of movement from the engine. I got the problem fixed and the car has never felt better. My guess is that its the lower engine mount on the engine that have failed due to it hanging pretty low in the car. Mine really started to shake when I bottomed out in someone's driveway! Hope this helps!
