Default 07 Speedo Issue

Ola, my father has a 2007 civic automatic, and apparently his speedometer is misreading on the dash!
so normal street driving (35-60mph) the speedometer reads like 90mph, I forget exactly what speed he was goin
I assume the speed sensor is bad, but if that was the case, there wouldnt be anything displayed on the dash

It would throw fault codes if the sensor just straight up took a ****. There could be a dirty connection or loose or something simple. If all that checks out good, just replace it!
