Default 06 intake on a 08 si?

I recently purchased a AEM short ram intake for my 08 si, seeing the post about aem intakes causing the engine light to stay on on these cars i called aem and asked them about the problem and he stated that aem doesnt make an intake for the 08. I looked at the manual and it said it was for the 06.
i called a different company and asked if the made an intake for the 08 because it wasnt listed on their website and they gave me the part # for the 06-07 that was listed on their site?

Are the parts interchangable or not? I am an idiot, so please exclude that from the answer

Well technically nobody makes an intake for the 08's yet, but Injen is coming out with one soon I think. The engines are the same engine so I am pretty sure you can put an 06-07 intake w/o causing any damage. But dont take my word for it, let a couple more people give you some options before you do anything.

If you need an answer soon ask Rico because he knows everything.

im sure they are all the same 06 07 08. but not certain. disconect the - sid e from batt for a few minutes when you install the intake. I did not and the CEL came on but after driving for a few miles it went out and never came on again.

The engine is exactly the same. As far as I know they haven't changed anything on the '08s except the addition of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The intake should work.

Maybe AEM hasn't updated their system yet.

Did the '07's have the red stitched shift boot, or did that not appear until '08? I forget. Lol.

x 1 million, with experience. Both of my bolt-ons were "06 +" if your car is a "+" , which it is, then you are fine.

While i'm at it: The ONLY thing you have to worry about is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light going off if you decide to swap your stock tires with ones with a different width, or if you decide to put spacers on. But that thread is a full 2 hours away from being created. Until then 's on me.

Seriously, I installed an Injen SRI no problem at all. Never had any CEL problems, fitment or any for that matter. Are you sure you got a 06+, I have seen where they sent someone a pre 06 intake on these forums so check it out.

Sounds like you either got the wrong intake, or you are doing something wrong on the install. My roommate put the same intake in his '08 SI and had no trouble whatsoever.

so the op how does the change feel? and a bit off topic rico or anyone that can comment i would apriciate it, as some of you know i recently had an accident on my FG and i have a aem intake ( 1st batch) its always had a cel and was thinking if i could should i have aem replace it with the new edition?

is their any changes on the new edition vs the old one? and is it really hard to change an intake?

and fianly i belive i did disconnect the the battery since it did ask for the code on radio, but cel still came back even after resetting it.....

really i could careless about the brand i just want to know whats the best intake for the 06 civic Ex 1.8L auto loudest and most gain :D

again sorry for off topic but yeah i thought i add this to the thread.... might make a new one ....

as far as the op again my question to it how it sound? any pics or vids?

I had it put in today. It fit, but very snug and Injen DID in fact give me the wrong damn hose for the coolant. It was way to small, so the guy put a fatter one in for me. Things loud as hell! DOn't know if I like it yet, gonna take some time. Already acn feel an increase on low end torque
