What does the drivers side axle connect to?
I recently replaced the studs, rotors, brakes and wheel bearings on the car (2003 honda civic lx) and whilst putting it back together I'm thinking the axle might have sled a bit off, don't know how it could've happened if everything bolted right up when I put everything back together.. so while i took it out about half a block up it just starts leaking a lot of transmission fluid everywhere, I managed to turn around put it on neutral and roll it back up the driveway. Now I removed part of the axle (not all of it came off.. the part that connects to the transmission housing? is still stuck on there, I then tried prying it out.. It wasn't happening. So guys, any suggestions on how to remove it? when i do and if the splines are fucked what would need to be replaced then? It's about an inch or two off but that's all that it will slide, I can slide it back and fourth for those inches.. It will not come off tho

I just use a pry bar and a hammer and tap it out a bit then rotate then tap it again. It'll just pop right out. Same kinda thing for reassembly. I usually just use the blunt end of my breaker bar and hit around the axle where the thick rubber part is on the boot

Thanks for the replies guys, I finally got it to come off, I'm putting everything back together right now.. The transmission didn't have any fluid left, I think it all leaked out.. now I'm worried if might be fucked. It's an automatic transmission

You might damage the seal. Or worse but rarely, you might damage the spline when you forced the CV axle back into the trans by using hammer.
