Trunk Lever stuck.

Trunk Lever stuck.
I have an 01 em2 and a couple weeks after i bought the car its trunk lever got stuck in the locked position. So now when i want to get in my trunk i have to turn the car off, walk around and open it with my key. Can anyone help with how to get it out of the locked position?
(My guess would be the tumblers are messed up or something like that?)

Re: Trunk Lever stuck.
You locked the lever and now it won't unlock? Is that what you're saying?
- Try spraying a small amount of lube into the key slot and try again. Wiggle the key a bit while you're trying to turn it.
Or are you able to lift the trunk lever, but the trunk doesn't open?
- If that's the case, either the cable broke or something's wrong inside the lever. Pop the cover and take a look at it. Also inspect the other end of the cable at the trunk latch while the trunk is open.

Re: Trunk Lever stuck.
I tried to lock it and when i switched it to the unlock position the lever wouldnt lift at all, though it will open my gas tank fine. So lube? not graphite powder?

Re: Trunk Lever stuck.
If the tumblers in the cylinder are already jammed, the powder isn't going to do a whole lot for that. The powder, although it works well, is more of a preventive lube and would best be used on a new lock vs. something liquid which will penetrate and loosen whatever is seized. PB Blaster, WD-40, Tri-Flow, etc. etc.
I'd still remove the cover and take a look at it.

^ thats what happened to mine, it wouldnt unlock, i just took the cover off and took the lock out, checked the cables, sprayed some rust check into the lock, put the key in and started playing with it a bit, after a few seconds its unlocked just fine, put it all back together and it's worked fine ever since(3years)
