Hey guys,
i am aware that most models of our cars have been affected by the airbag recall, but what do we do if we are in market to sell the car?

i am reading everywhere that getting the airbag replaced could take minimum to 1 year to maximum 5 years?

i have bought a different vehicle and now im in market to sell this (honda civic 2004) one but scared if legally i can sell the car with airbag recall or not...

Check to see if the recall has ever been taken care of: Recall Information for Safety & Defects | Honda Owners Site

Then, if it hasn't, call your local dealership and notify them. It's a free replacement.

the recall hasnt been taken care of.

and my concern isnt that its not free. Im concerned that it may take years before they can get my cars airbag replaced. and does that mean for years ill have to leave the car on my drive way depreciating its value for no reason

i dont know if i can sell the car with airbag recall without getting into big trouble

It does not take years to replace the air bag normally they replace the air bag inflator when you take your car in to the dealer they will verify the VIN and than they order that part which normally take a day to arrive and than they replace it for free. I did it on my 2001 Honda civic both passenger and driver side was replace and it took them less than an hour to put the new inflator in. Hope this help.

Just had mine replaced last week. Dealer had to order one, took about a 10 days for it to come in. Made an appointment, waited 45 minutes, drove car home. Cost to me, $0. FWIW, I'm the third owner.

Just call your local dealer and give them your vin. Dealer orders the part, takes about a week. It's FREE.

What if make and model 03 Accord are on the list but when I put my vehicle VIN it says no safety recall. How can that be?

Have you received any notification in the mail or by phone? The TSB doesn't effect all 01-05 Civics.

I have received no notices but can't help but be nervous. How can you tell if your 03 Accord airbag system is safe?
