Default Odometer resets on its own

I just picked up a 2004 civic dx and every couple days the tripometer, trip meter, odometer, whatever you would like to call it, resets. Not the mileage of the vehicle but the resettable trip meter. There is no aftermarket alarm on the car and I don't think the battery is dying because the stereo never resets. Any ideas?

Hmm... cluster might be goin' out. Try the following..

Gauge Assembly Self-Diagnostic: Link
If the cluster checks out but the issue continues to bother you, try swapping clusters.

Just so you know - the mileage is stored in the cluster, not in the ECU. If you get a replacement cluster, write down how many miles are on the car before swapping the clusters.
