Honda civic Code P1457
My 2004 Honda civic LX has 171K miles on it. I never had problems with my car before and i have driven it alot. Last week, i went to Autozone for coding of a engine emission indicator. I got P1457 on the read.
I check my fuel cap to see if it was loose, but it was fine and i clicked it more then 3 times as well. I am a student with low budget, i need some help here. How long can i drive without getting it fix and what should be my next time to tackle this problem.
thanks,

Re: Honda civic Code P1457
I just went through that, same code...same problem. I replaced my purge valve solenoid and my gas cap. I have a different generation, but I think that they are all the same. Do some research on your car to see if the systems are the same, but I have a 98 and that is what fixed my p1457 code.

Re: Honda civic Code P1457
I had the same code and it was the canister vent shut valve that was defective.. I did not replace it and the code went away by itself.. My car repairs itself by itself..
