2001 honda civic lx code p1457.help please.
The other day, put gas in the car, check engine code came on.P1457-auxilliary emission control.put in some dryt gas and reset the code.the next day, same code came back on after 80 miles, retightened gas cap, reset the code.came on again after 120 miles, replaced gas cap with a new one, reset the code, filled up the tank. code came on yet again after 220 miles.same code, showing it 2xs.at wits end and pulling out my hair.
car is working fine,no hesitation, automatic transmission, gas milage still seems great.car has 120k on the odometer.
Ive never replaced any filters except the oil and I have changed the oil - which is done every 4500 miles.
Im wondering if theres a vacuum leak somewhere, sensor bad somewhere or ??? any tips or ideas what the source of the code is and how it can be fixed would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

no, I have not replaced the fuel filter.where are the filters located and how long do they usually last?is replacing the filter something that will require a honda repair shop or can a mechanic do this?
do you suppose there was water in the gas or something that has clogged it up?
thanks

fuel filters should be good for the life of the car. but it is possible that something has messed with it causing it to go bad.
the honda here charges $99 bucks to diagnose CEL...if you're up to it.
