Default es Guage cluster

I want to know if a cluster from a jdm es civic will fit into my 01 dx canadian model. It was the only 01 cluster for a sedan in metric I could find on ebay.

heres the link to the item http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Fit? 100%

Plug and Play? Might need to re-pin. Not 100% on that, though.

it works, just re-pin your wiring, and wire the tach wire, search for the diy

just to clarify, is the rewire for the tach, or because its from a jdm civic? because other sources say the stock dx harness is wired for tach.

I've read the same thing, but I cannot speak with absolute certainty as I have not done a cluster swap. (no need to, I have already have a tach)

Canadian built DX's will work with tachometer equipped clusters from Canadian built cars for sure. The only problem I had when I installed a 2001 Si coupe cluster into my 2001 DX sedan was tha abs diode/led constantly illuminating, ended up cutting it. Whether this has low windshield washer fluid lamp and drl lamps you will have to determine ( you may not even care)

thanks, I was wondering about the abs light, i thought about opening the cluster and removing the bulb behind it but I have no idea if that is even possible. would you mind sharing exactly how you disabled it? side note; I'm in Halifax too

ok, I figured I'd post the results in case anyone searches for this in the future and finds this thread. It is indeed plug and play and everything works. I decided to use a little square of electrical tape on the back side of the cluster face to cover the abs light. very pleased with the result.
