It's not cheap like other d series engine which doesn't require K-Pro. All they need is a chiped P28/P72 and tune.

K pro and the tuning is the more expensive parts for our engine. And needless to say, our engines aren't even capable of making the powers D15B/D16Z6/D16Y8 makes. Because of course, ours are the Vtec-E.

What about getting a turbo kit from ebay ($500) and then getting a higher end brand BOV and Waste gate. The rest of the parts from it also seem pretty cheap to replace.

Ok so my buddy bought a turbo'd 04/05 civic... from a dealership by my house (socal)
And when he got it it ran like ****... kept stuttering and felt like it wasnt getting fuel.
So after the dealership takes it to two diff tuning shops (of their choice)
Now it is running good pretty quick to.
But he isnt running kpro.. Im not sure what hes on to tell you the truth when I called a few shops they said the only thing he could run was e-manage..
What will happen first? hes also at 10 psi... but he rarely ever rips on it and
drives it like a baby most of the time..

how good is the tune.....thats the huge factor on ANY motor. tune is going to be the most important and the one thing that is safe for reliability in tuning is hondata......

I honestly dont know how good the tune is... car runs good though...
he never got a graph... or datalog or anything... basically the dealer just got it in good running condition so they could get rid of it..

Here in Jamaica, some of our civics come equipped with the D15Y4 and the D16W9 engines with the same plastic intake manifold instead of the D17A engines with those pencil-thin connecting rods. What modifications would I have to make to the plastic manifold to maintain the PCV checkvalve working properly under boost, and maintain the intake manifold vacuum for the brake booster (I do a little left-foot braking sometimes to control understeer).
