Default 2002 Civic EX 1.7L had top dead sensor fault and low oil pressure

2002 Civic EX 117K miles. Always has ran great - no problems - well maintained. Eng light illuminated accompanied by low oil pressure light. Engine vibrated. Shut down immediately. Oil level normal. Pulled oil filter. NO OIL in oil filter. I am assuming that this is not a false indication and there indeed is no oil pressure because of this find. I can put a gage on it but would rather not run it again. How tough is it to change and do they go bad much? I wouldn't think there is many other options except maybe oil pump inlet clogged? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE - EBD2 CODE P1361 TOP DEAD CENTER SENSOR FAULT - I interogated the EBD2 with a borrowed code scout. So if this sensor down by the timing belt is bad I am not sure how that correlates with the low oil pressure warning.
